Children of the Promise
Cell Group Guidelines

Cell groups are groups of two or more Christians in a church or area who have agreed to come together in prayer and support for our children and their families.

How does a cell group work?

A cell group agrees to pray for all of our children. Should we have a child in need hospitalized or located in the area of a cell group, we would ask members of that group to personally visit and pray with the family and for the child whether at home or in the hospital offering encouragement and support by sharing the healing power of prayer through the blood of Jesus and the promises of God's word. We would also ask that if parents have a child hospitalized in your area and are unable to afford food and a place to stay that your group would assist them in this area by supplying a place for them to stay through your group or by contacting Children of the Promise and working together to supply and meet their needs.

Guidelines for forming a Cell Group:

1. Organize membership of two or more Christians and decide on a group leader.

2. Send contact information for each member to Children of the Promise. Such info should include name, telephone, email address, and mailing address.

3. Have at least one member with internet online service to print out children's needs from the website at: http://childrenofpromise.net or sign up to get the daily updates and share the needs with all members for prayer and support.

4. When contacted by Children of the Promise, arrange to have one or more of your group members visit personally with the family and pray for them and their child. This will normally require more than one visit to the hospital or home. Send a group member to be with the family during surgeries and other critical times.

5. If the parents of a child are far from home and need a place to stay or food your group will assist them in getting a place to stay by opening your home to them or by contacting Children of the Promise and working together toward filling the need.

6. Your group may wish to adopt a specific child or children and send cards, letters, and small gifts on special days or as you feel led.
