Arianna V.
UPDATE: 4-15-10
Its been a LONG time since I have updated this website huh? Alot has happened, alot has changed, and well its been rough!
I just took the kids for a spur of themoment, run away trip to Flordia for my spring break. We really needed it. In the months since Ive updated, our family has broken apart, both girls have been sick, and everyday life has been crazy! We spent some wonderful time at Give Kids the World village again. It was great to visit!
Arianna goes for her stress test in May for her heart surgery work up. We are planning IF we have to have another one, doing it again in June. We are still holding out for NO SURGERY.
UPDATE:1-26-10
Its been 2 months since I updated. Normally that means things are going well right? It was a LONG holiday break for all of us. Arianna caught pneumonia and could not get rid of it. She finally got a break in time for us to make it back to Cincinnati for her week long check ups. She is doing well as far as most of her organs, but her heart isnt looking too good. She has fluid around her heart again. They did 2 bolus's of Lacix and then did a repeat ECHO and the fluid had gone down alittle, but not away completely. She goes back to DE in March for another complete heart work up. We will talk then about whats going on. After over a month of being off of school we were both very ready for her to be back :) She is excited to start an after school program that helps her with her reading and math and homework. I admit, Im happy about it too. Any help I can get for her will help her in the end right?
Arianna will be SEVEN next saturday! Oh happy day! It has been a long road traveled, but well worth it!

Condition=Rare disease called Tubeorus Sclerosis, Mulitpule heart defects, brain tumors/seizures, kidney tumors, mild delays.
Comments:
My daughter and family go thru alot tryiing to get to tomorrow, any added prayers is definitely welcome.
How has Tuberous Sclerosis effected Arianna? Arianna has three different tumor types in her brain that effect her with slight delays, uncontroled seizures. There are multiple tumors in the brain. She had a tumor in her heart that was removed when she was 4 days old (THANK YOU DR NORWOOD with out you, our sunshine wouldnt be here with us today) and now has a VSD~Venticluar Septal Defect (hole in septum) Aortic Valve Leakage, and an aneurism on the left ventricle wall because of how the tumor was laying against the heart muscle. When the tumor was removed it collapsed. She also has Poly Cystic Kidney Disease, which is cysts in the kidneys. Recently we found out that she has multipule tumors in both kidneys.
Arianna has been having a rough time lately. In a way we are hoping its just the flu, but at the same time not because she still stays sick for quite a while. She has been having a horrible time throwing up. It started monday and was pretty bad w/ the seizures since she couldnt take her meds and she started ballooning up on us again. The Lasix seems to be helping her alittle, but you can tell when she doesnt take it. It was kind of funny on Monday when she was throwing up, Lauren mustve thought she was making the sounds to make her laugh.. She would coo laugh and them mock Arianna by making the same gaging sound. Arianna took it for a little bit and then said "sissy, not funny I sick!!!" Which made Lauren laugh even more.. Ahh, the life of having alittle sister LOL.
Arianna has alot of appointments coming up next month. We are going to be back in OH for at least a week, maybe alittle longer depending on what her cardio says. Im getting to be a ball of nerves again. I hate to say this because I dont want it to happen any sooner then possible but they have to do something with her heart soon. The little bouts of congestive heart failure here and there have been managed, but Im afraid the meds will stop working like they do for her seizures. Its strange to say LITTLE when it comes to her heart, but compared to what it could be? Yeah, that thought stinks!
Its hard to beleive in 9 days I will be 30, and Arianna will be 3 in 18 days. My how life ages someone! We are going to have a small birthday party for her at Chuckie Cheese.. That should be intresting right? Nothing like riping your nerves to shreds by having hundreds of little kids running around screaming while their having a good tine. Normally it wouldnt bother me too much, but like I said Im becoming a ball of nerves, so it might bug me alittle. Oh well, as long as Arianna has fun and is happy, its well worth it.
Well, Im off to see why Arianna said her sissy is crying again. Hopefully she didnt decide to decorate her again w/ stickers. Its nice that Arianna wants to share, but between the markers and the stickers, poor Lauren is starting to look like a collage :)
Take care
Bridget
